Attendance Policy

Each child who is registered in the 21st Century Community Learning Center Program is expected to attend each session, unless he/she has an excused absence. The following are excused absences:

·         Personal illness

·         Serious illness or death in student's immediate family

·         Conditions making attendance impossible or hazardous to the student's health or safety

An absence is not excused until a note from the parent/guardian/physician is received and approved.

If a child has more than 3 unexcused absences, the student can be removed from program.

A court ordered student should contact their probation officer and inform them they will be unable to attend that day’s session. The Probation Officer will contact/inform the Site Coordinator.

A student assigned to the program through the Walton County Juvenile Court is subject to additional required attendance days for every day missed. Students under probation are in possible violation of their probation for unexcused absences and may receive a sanction from their probation officer.

Testimonial
"For the most part, he’s a normal teenager now. He is pleasant and cooperative and a joy to be around. He is doing well in school and is set to graduate in may. He is working after school and on the weekends and is saving for his first car. His whole outlook on life has changed. He seems happy and much more positive. I truly believe that this program saved his life and has given him a real chance at a future ."
