About the
Program
The program operates in cooperation with the Walton County Juvenile
Court and Walton County Public Schools. It is funded through a grant from the 21st Century Community
Learning Center of Georgia through the Georgia Department of Education. It focuses on providing academic enrichment
opportunities during non-school hours for children, particularly for students who struggle with behavior issues.
The program helps students meet state and local student standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and
math; offers students a broad array of enrichment activities that can complement their regular academic programs;
and offers educational services to the families of participating children. The instructors are comprised of military officers, law enforcement officers, JROTC
instructors, teachers, and a licensed
counselor.

decision-making, money management, health-hygiene, family responsibilities, computer skills, basic criminal law awareness, employability
including career preparation, manners/respect and development.
Academic
Excellence
Focus on reading and math skills. Study awareness of
current news events from local news to the world events, study skills, foreign language, CRCT prep, GED prep-as
needed, basic overview of all subjects, nightly homework assistance, SAT /ACT prep, nightly test prep assistance,
and arts/humanities.

Intense character education through a structured and challenging environment. Boot camp style PT sessions that
breaks down barriers and builds respect for authority development of responsible citizenship, Gang Resistant Education and Training- GREAT, Drug Abuse Resistance
Education- DARE, Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Courses-JROTC, Ripple Effects-Behavior modification
software, and Professional Counseling on-staff.
Physical
Training
Intense physical training through a military style
confidence course, weight room activities, football, ropes course, and military
drills.
